Not Forgotten

I have not forgotten about my beloved blog! It's been a rough week and a half....

You know, you'd think this breastfeeding thing would be so easy, but boy, I'm telling you....it's not!!! And this is my second time around with it.

After 2 battles of thrush I got mastitis over the weekend. Seriously.....the worst pain of my entire life! And to get through it I had to nurse Sofia every three hours...THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! It was a bummer since she was doing so well sleeping 6-7 hours. But, worse than that, I was stuffing her! She was throwing up and pooping constantly! After getting through a very long 3 days the thrush had then caused major cracking. So now I am only feeding on one side and having to pump the other side. UGH! Thank the Lord that I have Doris through all of this. She is, not only, the most amazing lactation consultant, but also a cheerleader, supporter, listener and most importantly, a friend.

Whew, the stuff women have to go through! I tell ya! But, I'm finally feeling better and not so exhausted so I've added a bunch of pictures for you to see. Sofia is growing so fast. She's starting to show a bit of personality and it's darling! Of course, there is still the fussy time...during dinner! Mike and I have gotten use to eating in shifts.

We are looking forward to Auntie Michelle coming in to town this weekend to meet Sofia! The weather will be beautiful and it will be nice to have her visit!

Check out this big girl!!!

Hanna has been in swim lessons since she was 5 months old. But, we stopped them last spring since she was doing so well. She started back up in January and she has already graduated to the next level! She had to do 4 laps in the pool with perfect form and did an awesome job! We are so proud of her and she was more than excited! She couldn't wait to call Gigi and Papa to tell them. She's close to the swim team now!!!

Going to Sleeping Beauty

Last Saturday I took Hanna for a special "Mommy and Hanna" day. We went with friends to see the play, Sleeping Beauty, at the Hale Theater in Gilbert. Hanna loved the play and we enjoyed a great lunch after. Little Sofia stayed with Gigi and Papa. Hanna looked so pretty in her new dress.

eXtreme Play

Last week I took Hanna to eXtreme Play, which is a huge building with a bunch of inflatable bounce houses. We went with several friends and Hanna had a blast!!!!

Big Day!

Today was a big day for Sofia. She had her 2 month check up. She weighed in at 8lbs. 14 oz. and is now 22 inches long. She's growing so quickly to me but she is only in the 25th percentile for length and 5th percentile for weight. She's just a little peanut.

After Hanna got out of school, Sofia, Hanna and I went over to the mall and got Sofia's ears pierced! She cried for a minute or so but has been good ever since. Hanna and I picked out little diamond earrings. If you look closely at the picture you can see them!

Sofia's New Friend

A cute story for you..................
When Hanna was born I joined a mommies group, that I affectionatley call, my Booby Group, because it was started by my lactation consultant and it's full of mommies that all breastfeed their babies. Angela is one of my best friends from the group and she has a a daughter, Moira, who is 10 days older than Hanna. Just three weeks ago, exactly 5 weeks after Sofia was born, Angela and her husband, John, adopted little Meta!!! It's been so great having newborns together with Angela and going through it all over again together! So as Hanna and Moira have spent that past 4 1/2 years together now Sofia and Meta can grow up together.

Sunday Morning

Sunday mornings are always the best! We all go to church and then out to breakfast. Today we went to a little place called The Gilbert House. We sat outside and had a great meal. I snapped a few pictures that I thought were pretty good and I wanted to share them with you.

Sofia was all smiles this morning! She really was trying to "talk" to Grammy!

Hanna's Haircut

Just look at my first born. She's four and half. Where the heck has the time gone? She's growing like a weed and so has her hair! I have to blow it dry every night after her shower and it was taking too long! So off to Lollilocks today to get her hair cut and her toenails painted. She had so much fun.

Boy do I love my slings! Sofia is not a fan of the carseat. Let me rephrase that...Sofia HATES the carseat. Therefore, she only stays in it in the car. As soon as we stop I pull her out and pop her in the sling. I wear it everywhere, including in my house during her fussy times. The sling is my new fashion statement. I have two...I'm sure I'll get more made. My friend, Shally Wise, makes the slings. She does an awesome job!

Sisters

This picture brings me great joy!

To see Hanna loving her sister and wanting to hold her and kiss her makes my heart happy. I pray that they will be the best of friends. Hey, they are going to need each other to put up with me when I'm old!!!
To be honest with you, my sister and I never got along until we both had children. I've said before that my sister's first born, Coleman, was our healing agent. God sent us Cole to help Brean and I build a friendship. I'm thankful that as an adult I can call my sister, friend.
